Clown Fish

  • Whether hosting in its anemone or playfully swimming among the coral and rockwork, clownfish have to be one of the most well known and entertaining fish associated with marine aquariums. As members of the Pomacentridae family, which also includes most damsels, the clownfish can be territorial and aggressive. Many aquarists find it difficult to resist their flirtatious nature and good spirited personalities.

  • Ranging in sizes of 3" - 5", the Clownfish easily adapts to most aquarium settings and can be kept in smaller aquariums singly. Most Clownfish will easily pair off with the female being the larger of the pair. Small groups can be kept providing they are introduced at the same time when small. Often the largest of the group will take charge of the group and small scuffles will happen. It is not recommended to have more than one species of Clownfish per aquarium as aggression may cause stress and illness.
